Caesars Partners with Maine Tribes for 2026 iGaming Launch

Caesars Entertainment announced on June 24, 2026, a multi-year agreement with three Wabanaki Nations in Maine to launch online casino operations later this year. The partnership enables the operator to introduce its digital gaming portfolio to the state ahead of the scheduled iGaming rollout.

Partnership Structure and Platform Offerings

The agreement covers the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the Mi’kmaq Nation, and the Penobscot Nation. Financial terms were not disclosed. Caesars will operate three separate platforms under this arrangement: Caesars Palace Online Casino, Caesars Sportsbook & Casino, and Horseshoe Online Casino. Each platform serves specific player segments while using a single wallet system for account management.

Regulatory Framework and License Allocation

Maine became the eighth jurisdiction to legalize internet casinos following legislative approval in January 2026. State regulations assign exclusive iGaming rights to the four federally recognized Native American tribes, requiring commercial companies to secure tribal partnerships for market entry. Industry data indicates that Caesars, DraftKings, and FanDuel could control three licenses due to their current sports betting operations. Reports suggest the fourth license may go to BetMGM, Fanatics, Penn Entertainment, or another bidder.

Caesars previously entered the Maine market in 2023 with a sports wagering platform. The state’s gaming landscape includes land-based venues operated by commercial companies, several of which raised concerns regarding the projected impact of online casinos on brick-and-mortar attendance during the legislative review.
